Ingredient identity
Is this the ingredient you specified?
Supports supplier qualification, incoming-material release and investigations into suspected substitution. Suitable techniques and reference materials are confirmed for each material.
PlannedBioTrace Labs
Independent testing for supplements, nutraceuticals, botanicals and raw materials.
After years in analytical labs, we saw how often brands waited too long, got too little explanation, and couldn’t reach the person behind the result. BioTrace Labs is our answer.
Modern instruments, a 300+ botanical reference library, and a team that picks up the phone. Opening in North Hollywood in early 2027.

Supporting
Why choose us

A planned analytical platform featuring LC-MS/MS, GC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, HPLC, HPTLC, qPCR, and many more

A growing botanical reference library to support ingredient identity testing.

A quality system being developed around ISO/IEC 17025 principles and applicable FDA dietary supplement requirements.

A client-focused approach to discussing testing needs, methods, timelines, and results.
Planned areas of support
A useful testing plan starts with your material, its intended use and the decision you need to make. These are the areas our US laboratory is being prepared to support.

Ingredient identity
Supports supplier qualification, incoming-material release and investigations into suspected substitution. Suitable techniques and reference materials are confirmed for each material.
Planned
Relevant contaminants
Helps you prioritize screening around the risks linked to your ingredient, its source and intended use before approving a supplier or releasing a batch. Target analytes and reporting limits are agreed per project.
Planned
Potency and composition
Supports specification setting, label-claim reviews and batch-to-batch consistency checks for actives and marker compounds. Method suitability is confirmed for your matrix.
Planned
Microbiological quality
Supports release and supplier decisions for raw materials and finished products, based on product type and specification. Methods and sample requirements are confirmed before a project is accepted.
PlannedThese are planned areas of support, not a validated testing menu. Methods, matrix suitability and availability are confirmed by our team for each project before samples are requested.

Who we are preparing to support
BioTrace Labs is opening in North Hollywood, California. We don’t hand you a fixed test menu. We start with your product and the question you need answered, then build the right testing plan around it.
Our testing capabilities are still in development. We’ll confirm what’s available before accepting any project.
How it works
Nothing is shipped until the plan, availability and submission instructions are confirmed.
Tell us what the material is, its format and source, how it will be used and the decision your results need to support.
We review which approaches could answer your question, whether they suit your matrix and the current status of each relevant capability.
Availability, scope and timing are confirmed with you before anything is shipped, together with sample submission instructions.
Laboratory progress
We’re setting up our lab now, along with our methods and quality systems.
Talk to our team now about your testing needs, and we’ll have your project ready to go when we open.
Please wait for our confirmation and shipping instructions before sending samples.

Not yet. Client testing is planned for early 2027. Please wait for our confirmation and shipping instructions before sending samples.
Describe the material and its format (for example, raw ingredient, extract or finished product), the quality question or decision you need to support, any target analytes or specifications you work to, and your expected timing. The more context you share, the more useful our first conversation will be.
Planned areas of support include ingredient identity, relevant contaminants, potency and composition, and microbiological quality. Specific methods, target analytes and their validation status will be confirmed for each project.
Our team reviews your material, matrix and target analytes against the methods available or in development at the time, and discusses suitability with you before a project is agreed. Some materials may need additional method work.
Availability, scope and timelines are confirmed project by project as the laboratory approaches launch. Nothing is confirmed until you receive confirmation and submission instructions from our team.
Tell us about your materials and the quality questions you need to answer. Our team will be in touch to discuss next steps.
